Keeping it simple
Kim is well-proven at the enterprise level with Fortune 500 companies in various sectors. With Kim Document we have productized the document generation capability and made it available to small, mid and large organizations. We have seen many organizations struggle with document automation projects in the past, and with Kim Document, we have decided to keep it simple.
What are some of the main features of Kim Document?
Kim Document is accessible from any browser as well as MS Teams.
With Kim Document, you can be live within minutes because it is available in any browser. This was deliberate, as we wanted to meet the users where they were to make it easy for them to adopt. Likewise, if you wish to access Kim in MS Teams, you go to the Microsoft store and download Kim Document, which will then appear in your MS Teams instance.
We use what you already have - your existing MS Word documents.
There is no requirement for anything new, as we take your existing documents, whether they are letters, forms, records, checklists or contracts and automate them. This means that the integrity of your current document styles and formats remains intact.
You choose the tag names meaning they make sense to you.
In order to automate your documents, you will need to tag the variable data fields within your MS Word document. The tag is straightforward and follows this structure: square bracket, dollar, tag name, close square bracket, i.e., [$tagname]. You can name the tag whatever you like, but for best practice, we suggest you keep it simple and relevant such as [$counterpartyname]. Before uploading your document into Kim, you must go through it and add all the tags for all the variable data you wish to capture. This is very simple to do and doesn't require any training, and you can do it in a matter of minutes.
Kim turns your tagged documents into active applications.
Once you have tagged your document, you upload it into the Kim Document application. At this point, Kim extracts all the tags and creates a wizard that appears on the left-hand side. You use the wizard to drag and drop and create your web form, which allows you to generate the document automatically, or the form that someone needs to complete. Finally, save and activate the web application you have just created, and it's ready to be shared either internally or externally. You have now activated your MS Word document.
Control how the document is used.
From a compliance point of view, Kim allows you to put some controls around how the document or web form can be used.
